Looking for Mother's day treat? Here is one you can make if you can stir and spoon. It tastes like chocolate bars you get from a chocolate factory 2 hours away with many dollars, if not better.
3/4 cup peanut butter
6 tbsp coconut oil
4 tbsp cacao powder
4 tbsp honey (raw honey is fine)
1 cup almond silvered (lightly toast it for best aroma)
2 egg yolk (hard boiled, mashed) (optional)
2 tbsp plant protein powder (optional)
2 pinch sea salt
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp maca powder (omit it if young children will eat it or add 1/4 tsp to half the batter in the last step)
Yields: 36 bite size servings
Only two steps involved: Make the mixture and let the mixture set in molds in freezer (until firm or overnight).
Into a medium glass or stainless steel pot, scoop coconut oil and place on stove top on low heat.
Once the oils is in liquid form, spoon in peanut butter and stir until well mixed.
Stir in honey, sea salt, sift in cacao, cinnamon, and protein powder, after each addition stir until well mixed before adding next ingredient.
Add in egg yolk (if you use), stir until well mixed.
Add in almond silvers, stir until well distributed.
Sift in maca powder if you use it, stir until well mixed. If you have young children, skip maca powder or divide the batter in half, use half the amount of maca powder called in half of the batter for grown-ups.
Spoon the mixture into mold or molds you have, place the molds on a baking sheet, stick the baking sheet with molds in freezer overnight. Remove the treat from the molds and cut to bite sizes and serve. That's all in it.
Happy Mother's Day!
