2 Free Animations For Learning Mandarin Chinese Characters and pinyin

December 21, 2016

If you haven't been told what I have been getting into lately, you may take a look at my registered Chinese tutor profile. In this post, I want to share two free online animations for learning Mandarin Chinese characters and pinyin. Obviously you must be a student, parent, teacher/tutor of a student who is learning Chinese to be interested in them.

First is Chinese Character Animation which shows how a character you input is written by hand. The cool thing is it speaks the character too if you click on the speaker. And if the character has tone variations or pinyin syllable variations, once you click on the speaker, it brings up the choices that you want to hear. Click here or click on the image below to try the animation.

Second is Character and pinyin matching game. How well do you know your character and pinyin? Click on a Chinese character followed by a pinyin to match. Click on the Check button to check your answer after you finish matching all the characters. Click on New to get a new set of game. There are also three drop down menus to customize your game or play Flip game. Click here or the image below to play the game.

Good luck with Chinese learning, tutoring or teaching!
